Our History

Founded on October 10th, 2010, McLEAR launched the world’s first smart ring which could unlock doors, offices, start your car, and share information (the NFC Ring®) in 2013.

McLEAR’s team of British engineers and world-class experts have been hard at work with the world’s largest financial institutions, including a partnership with Visa, to invent the next generational leap of payments and security implemented through this smart ring device.

Unveiled at the Rio Olympics in 2016, the revolutionary McLEAR Smart Ring were used by 45 Olympic hopefuls who were inspired by the vision that advanced, elegantly simple rings could make payments, increase security, and perform many other functions. The ring was then showcased around the world at major events including the Super Bowl, FIFA Confederations Cup, Eurovision, and the GRAMMYs. Exactly two years later, this vision has become a reality as McLEAR launches this breakthrough wearable device.

In 2018, we launched the McLEAR Smart Ring, a small, light-weight device which allows you to make payments by simply tapping your hand safely and securely.

Our Values

We at McLEAR are a group of British engineers and world-class experts who are unveiling and bringing to life a solution that will secure the individuals from the security problems such as the theft and trade of personal data. We invented one of the smallest computers in the world, an electronic ring, which uses a system we call Anonymity to protect you. You can make payments with it, and soon unlock your doors and access your devices and accounts. We worked alongside the development teams at Visa, Infineon, and Gemalto in bringing this product to life.
