Terms and conditions for our referral scheme

If you refer someone to McLEAR

You’ll need to be a UK resident aged 18 or over with an active RingPay wallet with us.

How it works

• You share your unique referral link with friends (you can find this in the RingPay app).
• They tap the link or scan the QR code, which sends them to the mclear.com website.
• They then have 10 days to purchase a ring.
• 60 days after activating their ring, you and your referral get 10% of the vat-excluded ring purchase price that was paid, added to your RingPay wallets.
• You can’t exchange your referral reward for an alternative and we can replace the reward with something else at any time.
• The referral scheme starts on 17th July 2023. It doesn’t have an end date, but we can change this at any time.

When we won’t pay you a referral reward

We really appreciate you sharing your referral link with your friends, however there are a few rules we need you to stick to. If we believe that you are gaming the offer, for example – by paying for advertising to promote your link, then we have the right to stop paying you any referral rewards. We’ll contact you to tell you that we’ve done this.

We can also freeze your link and stop paying you the referral reward if we suspect any fraudulent, suspicious, or abusive behaviour. And lastly, your link will stop working if you close your account.

If the person you referred doesn’t purchase a ring within 10 days of you sharing your link with them, and if they do not activate a ring within 30 days, you won’t get the reward.

If the person you referred purchases a ring, but the price they pay is discounted more than 15% of the normal full ring price, you won’t get the reward.

We do not pay a referral reward for self-referrals (you can’t refer yourself!).

60 days after activating their ring, you and your referral get 10% of the vat-excluded ring purchase price that was paid, added to your RingPay wallet.

You can’t exchange your referral reward for an alternative and we can replace the reward with something else at any time.

The referral scheme starts on 17th July 2023. It doesn’t have an end date, but we can change this at any time.

We may run limited time offers where you can earn a different reward after making a successful referral. If this applies, we’ll let you know how it works and how long it’s running for by email or in-app messages.

If you’ve been referred to McLEAR

You’ll need to be a UK resident (excluding the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands) aged 18 or over, with documentation to support that.

How it works

• You click on, or scan someone’s referral link.
• You have 10 days to purchase a ring from our website.
• If the price you paid for your ring has more than a 15% discount of the normal full ring price, you won’t get the reward.
• 60 days after activating your ring, you and the person who referred you both get 10% of the vat-excluded ring purchase price that you paid, added to your RingPay wallets.
• You can’t exchange your referral reward for an alternative and we can replace the reward with something else at any time.
• The referral scheme starts on 17th July 2023. It doesn’t have an end date, but we can change this at any time.

Limited time offers

We may run limited time offers where you can earn a different reward after making a successful referral. If this applies, we’ll let you know how it works and how long it’s running for by email or in-app messages. You’ll know if this applies by following the referral link your friend sent you.

And finally…

If you take part in our referral scheme, we assume you’ve read and agree to these terms and conditions. If we suspect any fraud or breach of these terms, we can refuse to pay the referral reward or reverse a payment we’ve already made.

We can’t promise we’ll say yes to everyone who purchases a ring from us and applies for a RingPay wallet after using a unique referral link. Like all financial service providers, we have a responsibility to keep RingPay and all our customers safe, so there are many factors we look at when a user applies.

We’ll collect, store and process data related to our referral scheme in line with our Privacy Policy. English law applies to this referral scheme. Anyone who enters it submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
